Field Notes
This was a shallow, rocky brook with adequate sunlight shining on it. Sand on the left shore. Noticeable water movement near center of the brook. Maple trees were overhanging near the shore. Two blue butterflies were observed. Nearby was a road, sounds of vehicles moving. Other wildlife was present - small fish and a frog.

Crustacean with carapace, abdomen, 4 pairs of legs, one claw, 2 large antennae, swimmerets present, pleopods observed.

Great photos! I need to see a photo of the top side of the crayfish to make a guess at the identification , although it is certainly in the genus Orconectes.
